It’s so close we can taste it!

We had a nice relaxing weekend but still got a bit done on storage rig. Shaun built in the sides of the drawer and bolted in the anchor points for the fridge.

The side storage compartments are going to contain items like folding chairs, shower stand, fishing rods, recovery gear etc.

We tested out our new shower. It is a 12 volt shower it uses a pump to pump the water from a bucket to the shower head. It is no five star, high pressure shower but it will be well looked forward to after a hard day on the road.

Can’t wait for those outback showers in the middle of the desert. Oh the serenity!

Unrelated to the trip we went to the football on Sunday to see Darren Lockyer’s last home game before the finals. It was an amazing experience, the crowd was above 50,000 and the buzz was fantastic.

Can’t wait for our 4WD training course and our mini 4WD adventure with mum and dad this weekend. Bring it on. 24 days till departure.
