We’re Shaun and Sarah, an Aussie couple in our mid-thirties with an incredible thirst for exploration and adventure across our beautiful country. In 2011, feeling the itch for something more than the typical nine-to-five, we made the big decision to pack up our lives and embark on an epic journey around Australia.
The decision wasn’t easy. We bid farewell to our careers, sold off all our possessions (cue the tears!), and left behind our families to hit the road full-time. But it was all worth it for the chance to chase our dreams and experience the trip of a lifetime.
What started as a one- or two-year adventure evolved into a five-year journey, crisscrossing Australia’s vast and diverse landscapes. While we initially thought we’d eventually settle back into a ‘normal’ life, life had other plans.
We’re like plants with shallow roots – always ready to be uprooted and replanted in a new adventure.
Our journey began as a quest to find a place to call home, but it quickly became apparent that our nomadic lifestyle was our true calling. With Shaun’s knack for all things mechanical and Sarah’s passion for photography and writing, we’re the perfect team for exploring every inch of this vast and wondrous country.
Through our blog, we aim to achieve three things: document and share our travels, provide valuable tips and insights to fellow adventurers, and spread the word about Australia’s incredible beauty and diversity. Australia truly has everything from the coastal paradises to the rugged outback, from culture-filled cities to luscious rainforests. And we’re here to show you why it’s a destination that should be at the top of everyone’s travel bucket list.
Currently based in regional NSW in the Snowy Mountains, we seize every opportunity to hit the open road and uncover new places.
Our next adventure? South Australia awaits us in June 2024 – and we can’t wait to share the journey with you. We are also excited to be planning our first big overseas adventure – stay tuned as we plan our Euro vacation for 2025!
